James has been an EAP Tutor at CALD since 2023 and currently teaches on the International Foundation Year Plus (IFP+), Academic Language and Literacy (ALL) and Pre-sessional (PS) programmes.
He began teaching in 2008 and since that time has worked in Indonesia, Italy and China, as well as in spending several years in the UK as an EFL instructor. He made the transition to EAP in 2016 while studying for his MSc TESOL at the University of Bristol.
His research interests include intercultural communication, the role of AI in materials and assessment design, and teacher feedback on student writing.
