Stuart is an EAP tutor and materials writer at the Centre for Academic Language and Development (CALD), University of Bristol. Since joining in 2016, he has helped shape a variety of academic English programmes, including the Pre-sessional, Academic Language and Literacy (ALL), and the International Foundation Programme (IFP+). Beyond the classroom, Stuart’s independent research delves into multimodal theory, with a particular interest in how visual and symbolic forms of communication can unlock richer academic expression, especially within STEM fields. His passion for the visual arts, sustainable education, and creative pedagogy feeds into a teaching style that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and inventive academic work.
